The Affirmation of Our Faith

Leader:  We affirm our faith in the Bible.
People:  We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written word of God.

Leader:  We affirm our faith in God.
People:  We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Leader:  We affirm our faith in the Blessed Hope.
People:  We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church Of God, which is in Christ, at his return.

Leader:  We affirm our faith in Repentance and Salvation.
People:  We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

Leader:  We affirm our faith in Jesus Christ.
People:  We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.

Leader: We affirm our faith in the Holy Ghost.
People: We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

Leader: We affirm our faith in sanctification.
People: We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world.

The start of the school year is right around the corner which means it's time for the annual youth lock-in sponsored by the Generation Next Youth Ministry. All young people ages 12 to 18 years old are welcome to join us Friday, August 12 th here at the church. The gate will open at 9:00 p.m. Please have your teens here no later than 10 p.m. Pickup time for your children will be 6:00 a.m. the next morning (August 13th). This is the all night event you don't want to miss! Please see Elder Jarad Davis or any of our youth representatives for more details.

A Baptism ceremony has been scheduled for Sunday, August 14 th following the 11:15 a.m. service. A Christening ceremony for children 2 months to 2 years, has been scheduled for Sunday, August 21 st during the 11:15 a.m. service. All persons that wish to be baptized are asked to please call the church office and provide your names. The parents of the children to be christened are asked to also call the office and provide their names so that their certificates can be prepared.

The New Life Women’s ministry together with the New Life Singles ministry will sponsor an outreach project August 20 th . There will be a collection of personal items for distribution to Women in local shelters. Please see Sister Darnise McMorris for details.

It’s UN-conventional! Its UN-expected! And it's going to be UN-believable! It’s Upscale II: The UN-Conference! Young adults over the age of 18, the City of Life Young Adult Ministry is presenting this opportunity to connect with like-minded students and young professionals, to be empowered, and to impact our community. The UN-Conference will be Wednesday, August 24 th , Friday, August 26 th and Sunday, August 28 th . Registration is only $25 and is now open. To register please see Janelle Sherman, Lauren Davis or Ashley Richardson immediately following this service in the foyer of this building.

This is the final notice for Business Owners to place your ads in the conference Program Booklet. Today is the deadline to contact either Brother Benjamin Thomas or Justin Willis.

We have two items from the Education department… Anyone interested in participating on the New Life Scholarship Committee there is a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 17th, at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of Building A.

Sunday School’s Super Sunday is August 28th. Our goal is to have at least 300 in attendance. There is a class especially designed for you and your children. Let's help start off the Un-conference Sunday with your attendance in Sunday School.
